Officials at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, also known as CERN, said the evidence indicates that the new particle discovered at the Large Hadron Collider is a Higgs boson. Still, it is not known yet if it is the version of the Higgs boson predicted by the Standard Model of Particle Physics.
