At 9:37 PM on April 2nd, 2005, Pope John Paul II passed away in his Vatican apartments. He was 84.
As as the head of the Catholic Church for 26 years, he selflessly served the world and shall be remembered as one of the 20th century’s greatest leaders. He was an exemplary model of humility and compassion.
The world will not be the same without him.
May he rest in peace.
